Two-Home Development in Crystal Lake

Lake-McHenry Habitat for Humanity (LMHFH) invites qualified contractors to submit bids for a two-home development project located at:

1380 & 1384 Floresta Vista, Crystal Lake, IL

One home will be built on a never-developed lot, and the other on a lot where the existing house will be demolished. Construction is targeted to begin in September, with a goal to have both homes under roof before winter.

Scope of Work

LMHFH is seeking bids from contractors for the following residential services:

  • Foundation excavation and concrete work

  • Roofing

  • Plumbing

  • HVAC

  • Electrical

 

Bidders may submit proposals for one or multiple categories. Please include separate amounts for each and note any package discounts.

Bid Submission Details

  • Due Date: Tuesday, August 5 by 9:00 AM

  • Format: Written, sealed bids only

  • Delivery Address:

    (After-hours drop-off available in the black mailbox at the south end of the building)

  • Clearly mark envelope as “Sealed Bid”

 

Public Bid Opening

Date: Tuesday, August 5
Time: 9:00 AM
Location: 907 Front St, McHenry, IL 60050

  • Open to all interested parties, but attendance is not required.

  • Bids will not be awarded on-site.

  • All bidders will be notified of bid outcomes within one week.

  • Bids submitted after the deadline may not be accepted.

  • Extensions may be considered upon request.

  • Surveys, architectural, and engineering plans for each home

  • Bid specifications for each trade

  • Bid cover sheet (must be signed and submitted with each bid)

Pre-Bid Conference

Date: Tuesday, July 22
Time: 7:00–10:00 AM
Location: 907 Front St, McHenry, IL 60050

  • Breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and donuts will be provided.

  • This meeting is optional but recommended.

  • Contractors unable to attend may still submit bids.

  • All changes to project scope discussed at the meeting will be shared with interested bidders.

  • If you would like printed copies of the plans, please request them by Monday, July 21.

Additional Information

  • HFHMC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Contractors may utilize our Illinois Sales Tax Exemption for materials purchased for this project.
