Neighborhood revitalization through our Critical Home Repair program is a holistic approach to improving the quality of life of members of our community. The ultimate outcome of Critical Home Repair is improved quality of life, which we define as the sense of well-being and happiness experienced by individuals, groups, and communities.

Senior Critical Home Repairs

 

Who Should Apply?
  • Own and live in the home as your sole, primary residence.
  • A homeowner is 62 years of age or older.
  • Household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI.)
  • Current on mortgage, property taxes, and homeowners insurance.
  • Able and willing to comply with all funding terms, conditions, and program requirements.
  • Repairs eligible under this funding:
    • Accessibility modifications, widening doorways, tub-to-shower conversions, grab bars, flooring repairs, ramps.
    • HVAC system and water heater repairs and replacements.
    • Roof repairs, plumbing leaks, and unsafe electrical repairs.

 

Veteran Critical Home Repairs

 

Who Should Apply?
  • Veteran lives in the home as their primary residence.
  • Able to provide a DD214 showing no dishonorable discharge.
  • Current on mortgage and property taxes.
  • Repairs eligible under this funding:
    • Accessibility modifications, widening doorways, tub-to-shower conversions, grab bars, handrails, flooring repairs, ramps.
    • HVAC system repair or replacements; furnaces, water heaters.
    • Roof repairs, plumbing leaks, unsafe electrical repairs.
    • Unsafe doors, windows, decks, steps, walkways.

 

Please note, the Critical Home Repair Program is not designed to provide immediate emergency fixes. While the program aims to address critical repairs, it operates on a scheduled basis, prioritizing projects based on urgency, health, safety, accessibility and available resources. If you are in need of urgent repairs that pose an immediate threat to the health, safety, or accessibility of your home, it is recommended to seek alternative resources for emergency assistance. Dialing 2-1-1 will connect you to a call center that will direct you to an appropriate social service agency or nonprofit.

Requirements: Skilled contractors with experience in roofing, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, ADA-compliant design, etc.
