Trinity Trail Development

Building a Beloved Community, One Home at a Time

Trinity Trail is more than a housing development, it’s a vision for what’s possible when a community comes together in compassion, partnership, and purpose. This 10-home Habitat for Humanity of Lake-McHenry project located in unincorporated Woodstock, IL represents the next step toward building what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. called “the Beloved Community” a place where everyone is valued, opportunity is shared, and neighbors support one another.

Each home built here will provide a hardworking local family with the chance to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. These homes will not only transform the lives of the families who live in them but will also strengthen the surrounding neighborhood, local schools, and businesses for generations to come.

Why It Matters

In every community, there are families working hard yet struggling to afford a safe, stable place to live. Rising housing costs and limited inventory make the dream of homeownership feel out of reach for too many.

Through partnership with volunteers, donors, and local contractors, Habitat for Humanity of Lake-McHenry is addressing this challenge head-on. The Trinity Trail development will:

  • Create long-term affordability through energy-efficient, sustainably built homes.

  • Stabilize neighborhoods and promote local pride by turning vacant land into thriving home sites.

  • Empower families to invest in their futures and build generational wealth.

  • Model inclusive community building where everyone, regardless of background, has a seat at the table.
